An example of Gmail account settings is shown on the right. Note that the POP3 port has been set to 995 and that the Server uses SSL box has been checked.
In addition, you will also need to log into your Gmail account and ensure that POP3 email forwarding is enabled. See the next section for instructions on how to adjust your Gmail settings.
Gmail Account Settings
For SliQ Link Checker to be able to download emails from your Gmail account, you need to enable POP Download. To do this, log into your Gmail account online, and access your Mail Settings by clicking on the gear wheel on the top right of the browser page and click on the Mail Settings menu as shown in the following picture:
Then select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab in the settings and ensure that the Enable POP for all email setting is selected as shown in the following picture:
Note: In the above picture Gmail has also been set to delete Gmail's copy of any email accessed by a POP email client like SliQ Link Checker. If you are only using the email account to handle confirmation emails then you can safely set this value so that all emails from web directories are deleted after SliQ Link Checker Lite is closed.
SliQ Link Clicker and non-Gmail Accounts
An example of configuring SliQ Link Checker for a non-Gmail account - in this case an email account on a domain called mydomain.com - is shown on the right. Note that the POP3 port has been set to 110. The word mydomain should be replaced by the name of your own domain.
If you are not using your own domain for email, e.g. you are using Yahoo, please look at the help information given by your email provider on how to configure a POP email client to be able to download email.
